No. There are children for sale and it would seem easy to buy these children and give them a better life, however if we did this, we would be supporting the human trafficking business and making it sustainable.

Ambassadorship money goes towards funding rescue operations, developing the communities we work in and towards the areas of greatest need each month. Ambassador funds are also used to support rescued children until a sponsor is found.

Like any other organisation, it costs money to fulfill our vision to rescue, shelter and set free children.
A 20% admin fee is placed on donations, which allows us to continue operating and raise more funds.

Yes. All our rescued children are available for sponsorship. By sponsoring a child for $45 a month you will personally provide for their 24 hour care, meals, education and medical costs. You may only sponsor your child for 12 months, as if we find they have relatives that are able to care for them, we think it is better to grow up in the family environment.
Contact our office to enquire about sponsoring a child.

At different times FreeToBeKids runs trips to visit the safehouses, this would be your opportunity to go and be involved with our work.
You would get to meet our rescued children and see the change in them for yourself. On these trips you will be involved in active projects such as tree planting, painting and building works.
If you have any professional skills that you think could be of use we would love to look at ways to utilize them.

Yes. FreeToBeKids offices are based in Melbourne. While rescuing a child seems like dangerous and exciting work, it actually takes a lot of very normal administration which goes on behind the scenes to make it all happen. From websites, mail outs and graphic design, to thank you DVDs and child progress reports, we are greatly appreciative of people who offer their time and skills to help in these areas.
You can also become an advocate for FreeToBeKids and promote our work within your networks. We will provide you with all the resources you need. You may also like to organise a fundraiser.

Every story is different. In some countries investigative teams work to rescue children directly from brothels and jails, while in other cases children are dropped at our centers or picked up by field workers in local communities.
