trips

Come on an active mission’s works trip in August of 2010. (these trips are from Australia, info about trips from the USA coming shortly)

INDIA: AUGUST 14TH-26TH 2010

You will travel to Bangalore, India. Drive by bus to Mysore and spend 4 days at the FreeToBeKids Child Rescue Centre. You will paint, build and run workshops with our fantastic kids!

You and your team of 11 will then fly to Kolkata in Northern India to start work at our newest Rescue Centre. You will have the chance to see what it’s really like for children who are trapped in prostitution and slave labour. You will meet them and spend time hearing about their lives. It won’t be a handshaking, tourist trip. It’s a working trip. Expect to be part of the solution for exploited children in India. All you’ll need to bring are some clothes you can work in and an attitude of service.

Approximate cost: $3500 (airfares included)

A TRIP TO SEE FIRST HAND WHAT FreeToBeKids IS DOING IN THE TOWN OF GOMA, DR CONGO. YOU’LL SEE FOR YOURSELF THE EXTREME NEED IN AN AREA NOT OFTEN VISITED BY WESTERNERS BECAUSE OF THE NATURAL DISASTERS AND RECENT CIVIL UNREST.
POVERTY IS EVERYWHERE AND THE SITUATION IS DESPERATE. IF WE WERE TO COMPARE THIS TRIP WITH OTHER FreeToBeKids ACTIVE MISSIONS WORKS TRIPS IT WOULD RATE AS EXTREME.

Going on an ACTIVE MISSIONS WORKS TRIP will be your most exciting and rewarding adventure of 2010!

In 2010 we will again be Parachuting 4 Poverty, to raise funds to continue the work of FreeToBeKids. We are looking for people who would like to be involved with making this event happen.

If you are a highly motivated person, who may have skills in event management, we would love to have you join with our team.

Minimum weekly time commitment – 2 hours
